Announcing the official release of BEST Version 14.50

This is a major release as it contains several key changes, all of which are included at no additional cost to the upgrade price.

Enhanced Document Management
Completely dropping the need for Crystal Reports for letter and form production and using advanced techniques to integrate with MS office Word, BEST now allows customers to easily control custom templates. It has never been so easy and flexible to create new documents or modify existing templates.

V14.50 comes pre-installed with over 50 letters that replace the old Crystal Reports versions.

Training Module
Since starting to build our training videos in December 2023 Becky, Kelly & Vicky have dedicated 1,360 hours to build over 180 individual videos. Mike has been working along side the team to allow the videos to be managed and delivered to users via a training module.

The latest version of BEST creates an electronic list of training courses based on the user’s role and presents them with progress visuals and the ability to create notes in preparation of round up sessions with Soft Options. Management can also track the progress of staff training and schedule both training and roundup sessions as part of the new module.

TLS 1.2 Support

V14.50 is the only version of BEST that provides this without any additional cost.
TLS is a network security protocol (Transport Layer Security) and Version 1.2 offers improved security, designed for high performance and improved reliability. To accomplish this, it relies on a combination of symmetric and asymmetric cryptography.

Sites running older versions of BEST can be modified to use the new techniques but much of the application needs to be amended and is therefore a lot of work for both Soft Options and the end users of the system due to extensive testing required prior to going live.

The cost for this upgrade on older versions is a maximum of £5,000 + VAT, with price breaks for systems less than 5 years old.
Sites running versions older than 8 years old (versions prior to V14) cannot be modified and must therefore upgrade to the latest version of BEST.

KPI (Key Performance Indicators)

BEST has been providing the ability to provide KPI for over 15 years and in 2021 a new module was created to make the data more readily available and easier to automate.

V14.50 includes tools that make it easier for Soft Options to add custom KPI’s much quicker and a suite of common reports are included as standard.

Dynamic Review Screen Updates

Many of the dynamic screens have been modified to support multi selection and a new appointments review screen has been built.

The Partial Booking (PB) review has been dropped in favour of the new screen as it contains all the former PB screen functions with the addition of new information and filters.
