11/12/2025 – The Wheelchair Hub, West London Go Live

The latest version of BEST has been successfully installed at Hounslow Wheelchair Service, completing a smooth and timely Go Live just ahead of the Christmas period.

The launch followed a period of careful planning and coordination, particularly considering changes to Trust arrangements and IT providers. Despite these challenges, once all prerequisites were in place the project progressed at an impressive pace. Sarah and her team worked tirelessly to ensure everything was ready for Go Live, demonstrating flexibility and commitment throughout. Such was the team’s readiness that, on the day prior to conversion, the option of bringing the Go Live forward was even discussed. Ultimately, the decision was taken to proceed as planned.

As this was an upgrade rather than a brand-new implementation, the team were already familiar with the system. Even so, they made excellent use of the full suite of training videos, enabling them to approach Go Live with confidence. Feedback was positive almost immediately, with users highlighting their enthusiasm for the new Shopping Basket functionality, which allows multiple assets and stock items to be easily added to a Work Order or Purchase Order.

We are very excited to have our new Upgraded version of Best and are looking forward to benefiting from the efficiencies it will deliver!

Some of the new features are great:

  • Caseload review makes monitoring your caseload even easier.
  • The search functions on all of the tables has improved ease of use.
  • The shopping basket feature is a hit with our clinicians
  • Outstanding items will ensure staff can keep up to date with their actions.
  • And the new KPI reports make managing the teams so much easier as I have better visibility.
  • Bar coding will really help to speed up some of our processes.

Kelly, Vicky, Owen, Simon, Dave and the team have been a great support throughout the Upgrade and really got to understand how we work, ensuring we get a system that works for us.

The SOS change control ticketing system has facilitated better communication and ensured efficient management of tasks.

Having the trial Go Live also gave us time to check how everything was working and made the Go Live smoother.
