Soft Options has proudly supported the Sheffield Mobility & Specialised Rehabilitation Centre for over 34 years, delivering continuous development and dependable service to NHS teams.
I recently visited the site to assist with the upgrade to the latest version of BEST (V14.51), marking another significant step forward in system capability and performance.
An initial impact analysis has already been completed, highlighting over 1,500 enhancements and changes between the current and latest versions. These developments reflect the scale and momentum of ongoing innovation within BEST, ensuring the platform remains robust, responsive, and fully aligned with evolving clinical and operational demands across NHS services.
At Soft Options, progress never stands still. BEST continues to evolve in line with national standards and the increasing pressures faced by NHS organisations, helping teams streamline processes, improve efficiency, and ultimately deliver even better patient outcomes.
It was particularly encouraging to see the excellent progress made by staff in data checking, as well as their proactive engagement with the training resources. Through our enhanced training analytics, it was clear that all staff have successfully completed the full suite of eLearning courses which is great to see.
Our Change Control System (SOS) has also been well utilised since its initial implementation, with consistently strong input and detail—particularly from Glenn Carlin and the wheelchair admin team, whose contributions have been invaluable in supporting ongoing system refinement and improvement.
I look forward to working closely with the staff and look forward to watching the progress of this upgrade.
Following the site we had some feedback from the service
“I’m pleased with progress and the engagement from Soft Options including frequent communication and catch ups. You are clearly passionate about the system, which is iteratively improved with a user focus. We’re excited for the efficiencies the upgrade will bring, and it has been an opportunity to take stock of our historical processes and review/streamline.”
